AN URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM CONCEPTION:
It is with a very heavy heart that we must announce that we have had to take the decision to postpone all of our forthcoming tour and events activities, originally scheduled from March through May 2020. We feel that in light of the current situation regarding the potential spread of the coronavirus and resultant health implications and travel restrictions, we have no alternative but to follow the rules and guidelines as issued by the relevant authorities, and announce an immediate postponement of all Conception related events for the immediate future. We have a duty of care for the well-being of fans and crew alike, and hence feel we must respect current guidelines in solidarity with the risk groups and the respective authorities. In order to honour our existing commitments to fans, we are currently working hard to re-schedule the tour dates for a period in the first half of 2021, and would urge all gig ticketholders to hold on to their tickets, as these will remain valid for the re-scheduled dates. Further information regarding re-scheduled dates and ticketing and will be made available in due course.

I 1991 slapp Conception debutalbumet «The Last Sunset» som skulle bli starten på karrieren til et høyst innflytelsesrikt hardrock-band – som utfordret konvensjoner og pushet musikalske grenser. Plata ble en salgssuksess og gjorde det stort i Europa og Japan. I 1993 ble de signert til tyske Noise/Modern Music som for alvor etablerte bandet.
Den konstante streben etter musikalsk utvikling fortstatte i takt med at fanbasen vokste. Tre album og seks år senere forsvant bandet, men de ble aldri offisielt oppløst. Roy Khan ble sangeren i det amerikanske hardrock-bandet Kamelot, Tore startet ARK, Ingar Amlien fortsatte med bandet Crest Of Darkness og Arve Heimdal spilte med Nickels & Dimes.
Fjorårets comeback-ep «My Dark Symphony» kom til stormende jubel blant metal-fansen, som igjen førte bandet til triumferende tilbakekomst i liveformat. I skrivende stund har de igangsatt crowdfunding for å spille inn- og gi ut sin første fullengder på 23 (!) år.
Conception er tilbake og sirkelen er komplett.
