Desertfest kommer til Skandinavia for første gang!
New band announcement!
Norway has so much talent on offer these days, it would be anything but fair to exclude our own horde of bands on the first Desertfest Oslo edition. We are super proud to announce the return of the Tired Old Dogs in The Devil & The Almighty Blues to the domestic live scene. This bunch of legends haven't played Oslo since 2019, and we simply can't wait to see their blues-laden excellence on stage again.
The other Norwegian acts following this announcement are all extraordinaire examples of the diversity found in our bursting scene. Karavan bring the filth, Håndgemeng bring the party, Saint Karloff bring the groove and Superlynx bring the laidback jams while Suncraft bring the energy.Highly recommended every single one of them.
BUT - lets not forget! Eyehategod is coming! This true force of nature is bringing their NOLA sludge overseas, and all the way to Oslo next spring. EHG will leave no mind untouched, or unblown for that matter. RIFFS! More announcements to follow shortly!
This band has been grinding their way, building their newborn stardom stone by stone. KADAVAR is in the absolute forefront of the European Stoner Rock community, delivering out of this world live shows at every given occasion. Recently becoming a 4-piece, Kadavar will re-boot your trust in the pureness of magic riffery!
The Swedes in Monolord took the entire heavy underground by storm with «Empress Rising» almost a decade ago, and have only gained respect and momentum ever since. Their riff-worship is so well crafted it feels instantly timeless. Oslo and Monolord go way back, and its with walls of joy and sound we will welcome the guys back to town.
Lori S and her crew in Acid King have a had a tremendous impact on the stoner doom scene we have seen blooming over the last 15 years. The riffs are thick, juicy and meaty, with a great sense of melody to accompany their Big Muff sound. Their back catalogue is full of classics, giving inspiration to a brand new generation of bands. Acid King is a massive live band, finally back in Scandinavia.
Brant Bjork Trio
Brant Bjork has spent over a quarter-century at the epicenter of Californian desert rock. From cutting his teeth drumming and composing on the legendary Kyuss’ landmark early albums, to propelling the seminal fuzz of Fu Manchu from 1994-2001. This bunch is nothing but legends, and its with goosebumps we await his jams in this legendary band format.
Full Earth is a five-piece spawning out of Kanaan, and foremost Ingvald, their starllit drummer, now bashing skins in Motorpsycho´s brain. Full Earth will blow your brains out with their minimalism, fuzz and creative organ patterns. This is a band set to conquer every land they enter.
The brightest sun in the Desert has to be named Agabas, Their mix of Death Metal, Sludge and Jazz implodes like a ten-ton-dynamite from every stage they enter. It can´t be described by words. Have Norway ever seen a better, more engaging live band? Come and see for yourself - we think not.
The heaviest of the heavy. Bergen´s newest addition to the European League of Heavy Sorcery is coming to Desertfest. So well written, so well performed, such a knock in the gut. Bismarck has a God-given quality to their song writing, making them stand out in every occasion.
